💻📘 “While others dreamed of working for a big company… I dreamed of building one from my room.”
As a kid, I was introverted, curious, and yes… a little obsessive. I loved books and numbers. At 13, I discovered programming — and I knew I had found my place in the world. But it wasn’t always easy. I dropped out of Harvard, one of the best universities, to chase a dream that only I could clearly see. People thought I was crazy. I was simply determined. 🧠📚
With my friend Paul Allen, we started working out of a garage. No luxury, no funding — just vision. Days and nights blurred as we built something that would change the way people used computers. We made mistakes, lost contracts, slept very little, but kept moving. When we founded Microsoft, the idea of a “personal computer” didn’t even exist yet. We bet on something unseen. And it worked. 🧑💻⚙️
Then came the hard times: lawsuits, fierce competition, tough decisions. But every setback taught me to think bigger. I learned to surround myself with brilliant people, to admit I didn’t know everything, and to turn mistakes into improved versions. Over time, we didn’t just build a company — we helped transform the digital world. 🌐🚀
