Global Conflict: US-Israel War on Iran 

The conflict in the Middle East has entered its seventh day following the reported death of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. 

  • Intensified Bombing: Tehran faced heavy bombardment overnight, with residents describing it as the “worst night” of strikes so far. Targets included a military academy and radar bases.
  • Regional Spillover: Iran has targeted the Israeli embassy in Bahrain and the Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar. Azerbaijan is withdrawing diplomats from Iran after drone strikes hit its territory.
  • US Political Response: The US House narrowly rejected a resolution to end the war. President Trump stated he must be “involved” in choosing Iran’s next leader and ruled out a ground invasion as a “waste of time”.
  • Travel Chaos: Over 11,000 flights have been canceled in the Middle East, leading to a scramble for citizens to evacuate the region.
